How about a short wise story?...

Once, during a walk, Krishna and Arjuna met an old Brahmin who wanted alms. Pitying him, Arjuna gave him a bag full of gold coins. The old man was very happy. But on the way home in the woods, he was robbed by a thief. Accepting his destiny, the next day he went out again to ask for alms.

Arjuna and Krishna met him again and understood what had happened. And again, Arjuna felt sorry for him and gave him a big diamond. The old man took it and hid it for safety in the old pot, which has not been used for years, and went to bed.

The next morning, while he was still asleep, his wife went to the river to get water, but on the way home she slipped and broke the water tank. At that moment she remembered the old pot and decided to fill it with water. When she put it in the water, the diamond rolled over and sank into the river. Returning home, she found the Brahmin desperately searching the pot throughout the house. Seeing her with the pot, he knew what had happened. Gloomy about what had happened, he went out again to ask for alms...

And again, Arjuna and Krishna saw him, and when Arjuna heard of his misfortune, he said to Krishna:

"I don't think this man is blessed by fate and I can't help him."

Then Krishna gave the old man 2 coins. The man took them and left.

"My God, if the gold coins and the diamond failed to change his destiny, what good can these two coins do?" Arjuna exclaimed.

Krishna smiled and replied, "We will see."

On the way home, cursing his fate, the old man saw a fish caught by a fisherman who was fighting for his life. He felt sorry for her and thought:

"With these two coins, I can't get anything to eat, I'd rather save this creature's life."

And he bought the fish. When he was about to release it into the river, he noticed that the fish was suffocating because of something in her mouth - it was his diamond. Luckily, he started shouting:

"Look what I found, look what I found!"

It was at this time that the thief who robbed him passed by. Hearing the shouts, he decided that the old man knew him, this is why he shouted. Fearing the people might catch him, he rushed to him and begged his forgiveness, returning all the stolen gold coins. The Brahmin was happy and took all his wealth. He then went to Arjuna and told him how things had turned out, thanked him for his help and left.

Arjuna asked Krishna,

"Lord, how did it happen that gold and diamonds failed to help him, and your scarce two coins did?"

Krishna replied:

 "When he had gold and diamonds, he thought only of himself and his need, but when he had only two coins, he put the need of another before his own, and I took care of him. The truth is, Arjuna, when you think of pain and need to others and you act to help them, you do God's work, and then God Himself takes care of you. "
